Top 20 Private University in Bangladesh
A few days ago my friend ask me, Can you tell me the name of the top-rated Non-Government University of Bangladesh in 2020? But I can’t! Because the top university list not published yet! 1. North South University
North-South University is the first Non-Government University in Bangladesh. This university establishment was approved by the Government of Bangladesh in 1992 under the Private University’s Act (PUA) 1992 (now replaced by PUA 2010). This University is located in Bashundhara in Dhaka. It is the largest private university in Bangladesh in terms of the student population and 2nd position in terms of campus size after American University. Now Professor Atique Islam (2016–present) vice-chancellor of this university.

2. BRAC University
World’s top 1 NGO Brac is the owner of this university and they establish this university in 2001. Now it’s score 75.63 according to the Bangla Tribune News. Vincent Chang is the present vice-chancellor of this University. 16 Bachelor’s degree, 18 Postgraduate and 4 Diploma total of 38 Academic programs have on BRAC University. 3. East West University
East West University, also known as EWU), is a private university located in Aftabnagar, Dhaka of Bangladesh. This university is also the oldest university in Bangladesh and it is established in 1996. DR M. M. Shahidul Hassan is the present vice-chancellor of this university. Current Score 71.17 in the 2020 Private University Ranking. This university offers 14 Subjects of Bachelor’s degree and 13 Postgraduate of 15 departments.
4. Independent University, Bangladesh
Current Ranking 70.21. This university was established in 1993 also known as EUB. Mohammed Omar Ejaz Rahman is the present vice-chancellor of this university. There are more than 7,500 undergraduate and graduate students at this university. IUB (Independent University) offers graduate courses in 19 departments and post-graduate courses in 15 subjects.
5. Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology
Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (আহ্ছানউল্লা বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) also known as AUST first Private/non-government engineering university to be established in Bangladesh. This University was founded in 1995. The university’s education program is being run on the 1.6 acres permanent campus of Tejgaon. This University offers eight graduate courses. DR A. M. M. Safiullah is the present vice-chancellor of this university. Its score is 68.
6. American International University-Bangladesh
American International University-Bangladesh (আমেরিকান ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটি-বাংলাদেশ), also known as AIUB is an accredited and renowned private university. This University is located at Kuratoli Road, Kuril in Dhaka, Bangladesh. There are 23 Subjects of Graduate and 14 Postgraduate under 18 departments on AIUB. The score is 65.15 on the 2020 Private University Ranking.
7. Daffodil International University
Daffodil International University started its activities in 2002. Before the debut as a university, there was an institution named Daffodil Institute of Information Technology established by the founders. From the beginning, this Univesity provides Technology-Based Education. Current Vice-Chancellor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam. United International University is a private University in Bangladesh and also know as UIU. This university was established in 2003 according to the Private University Act (PUA) of 1992. This university operates 13 academic programs on 10 topics (7 Graduate and 6 Post Graduate). There are Total 6586 students and teachers number 294. Present Vice-Chancellor Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman. 9. University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh
University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (Also known as ULAB) Founded in February 2002, permission to open was received from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh in November 2003. ULAB is a research-intensive University, with multiple research opportunities for its faculty members and students. Present Vice-Chancellor H.M. Jahirul Haque. University of Asia Pacific – UAP (ইউনিভার্সিটি অব এশিয়া প্যাসিফিক) is a private university located at Dhaka, Bangladesh. This University was established in 1996 as a private university under the Private University Act 1992. Jamilur Reza Choudhury is the present vice-chancellor of this university. They offer 8 Graduate and 9 subjects in the post-graduate course. The total number of students is 5, 456, and faculty number 277. The ranking position is 10 and its score 60.28 according to the Bangla Tribune.
11. International Islamic University, Chittagong
This university mostly popular because of having one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. It was founded in 1995 under the Private Universities Act of 1992 (Act no. 34 of 1992) and Islamic University Chittagong Trust is the founder of this university. Professor KM Golam Mohiuddin is the current vice-chancellor of the organization. Currently, there are 10 postgraduates, 12 graduates, and 2 diploma courses offered by this university. Ranking position 11 and the score 59.03.
12. Southeast University
Bengali সাউথইস্ট বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় also know as SEU. It is one of the reputed private universities in Bangladesh. This University was established in 2002. ANM Meshquat Uddin is the present vice-chancellor of this university. Its score is 56.96 in 2020.
13. Stamford University Bangladesh
This University was established in 2002 under the Private University Act. Before starting as a university, its predecessor institution was known as Stamford College Group established in 1994. Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Ali Naqi. There are 7,654 students and 393 teachers in the institute. Score 56.55 in 2020 Ranking.
14. Bangladesh University of Business and Technology
In 2020, Its ranking is 13 and its score is 54.42 according to Bangla Tribune. Also known as BUBT and it was established in 2003. The institution has 8,543 students and 300 teachers.
15. Eastern University
The Eastern University was established in 2003 under the Private University Act 1992, and later on, approved under the Private University Act of 2010. Note that the university is waiting for the approval of textile engineering UGC as its new division. Professor Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain is the current vice-chancellor of this university.
