The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has officially announced the Medical Admission 2026 date and new exam format for the upcoming MBBS program. The admission test for both government and private medical colleges across Bangladesh will be held on December 12, 2025.
For the first time, students will face both MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) and a short-written examination in MBBS Admission 2026 for the session 2025-26. The decision aims to evaluate students’ conceptual understanding in addition to their ability to answer objective questions. The move has been finalized in a recent meeting held by the Ministry of Health on Monday, October 6.
Medical Admission 2026
The Medical Admission test session 2025-26 will mark a new chapter in the selection process for future medical students. Traditionally, the exam was entirely based on MCQs, focusing mainly on memorization and quick response skills. However, this time, the authorities have added a written section to assess analytical thinking and clarity in understanding key topics.
According to officials present at the meeting, the written part will carry 10 to 20 marks only. Though it won’t heavily impact the total score, it will play a significant role in differentiating candidates with deeper subject knowledge. The Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) will finalize and announce the detailed mark distribution and exam structure soon.
