HSC Board Challenge 2025 Huge Students

This year’s HSC and equivalent exams saw a big drop in results. A total of 58.83% students passed in the exam which is the lowest pass rate in 20 years. Many students were disappointed and have asked for their papers to be rechecked through the HSC Result Challenge. More than 226,000 students from 11 education boards applied for re-evaluation.

As per the report, this year the review process was started online on October 17 and ended on October 23, 2025. Over 428,000 answer scripts were challenged, which is the highest number in recent years.

After seeing the poor results, thousands of students applied for “script challenges.” Many believe there were mistakes in marking, especially in English and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). These two subjects received the highest number of complaints this year.

Officials said that the number of recheck requests is much higher than last year. Students and parents hope that the re-evaluation will fix any errors in marking.

HSC Board Challenge 2025: Board Wise Application

  • Dhaka Board: Out of 292,056 examinees, 66,150 students applied, challenging 136,506 answer scripts — the highest in the country.
  • Cumilla Board: 22,503 students submitted 42,044 recheck applications.
  • Chattogram Board: 22,595 students applied for 46,148 script reviews.
  • Rajshahi Board: 20,924 students challenged 36,102 papers.
  • Jashore Board: 20,395 students requested checks for 36,205 scripts.
  • Dinajpur Board: 17,318 students asked for 29,297 rechecks.
  • Mymensingh Board: 15,598 students applied for 30,736 reviews.
  • Sylhet Board: 13,044 students challenged 23,082 scripts.
  • Technical Board: 12,007 students submitted 15,378 applications.
  • Madrasah Board: 7,916 students asked for re-evaluation of 14,733 papers.
  • Barishal Board: The fewest applications came from here — 8,011 students for 17,489 scripts.

English and ICT are the two most applied subjects this year. Students said they were confused by the new question style and stricter grading. Many believe their actual performance was better than the marks they received.

Education experts think this rise in re-evaluation requests shows a growing concern about how papers are being checked.

The education boards are now reviewing all the requested scripts. Once the process is complete, they will publish updated results for those whose marks change.

Usually, re-evaluation results are published within three to four weeks after the application deadline. Students can check their results directly from their respective board websites.
