New Routine Published for Class 8 Scholarship Exam

The Class 8 Scholarship Exam Routine 2025 has been changed. As per the new schedule, the exam will be held from December 28 and continue till December 31, 2025.

The new schedule was announced by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) through a circular signed by B. M. Abdul Hannan, Acting Director General of DSHE, on October 29 (Wednesday).

After almost 16 years, Secondary Education Board going to conduct Junior Scholarship Exam. The Secondary and Higher Secondary Board conducted the Junior School Certificate (JSC) Exam till 2019.

New Exam Dates Announced

According to the new notice, the exam will now take place between December 28 and December 31, 2025. Each test will start at 10:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM.

Here’s the updated subject-wise schedule:

  • Bangla: December 28, 2025
  • English: December 29, 2025
  • Mathematics: December 30, 2025
  • Science and Bangladesh & Global Studies: December 31, 2025

Earlier, the exam was set to start on December 21 and end on December 24. The results were supposed to be published on January 31, 2026, but the new circular does not mention a result date yet.

Scholarship Types and Marks

The Dhaka Education Board said that there will be two types of Junior Scholarships this year:

  • Talent Pool Scholarship
  • General Scholarship

Mark Distribution

Up to 25% of eighth-grade students from each school can take the Junior Scholarship Exam. Schools will choose these students based on their seventh-grade results. Students will take exams in four subjects, worth a total of 400 marks:

  • Bangla – 100 marks
  • English – 100 marks
  • Mathematics – 100 marks
  • Science (50 marks) + Bangladesh & Global Studies (50 marks) = 100 marks

According to the Routine, each exam will last three hours. Students with special needs will get 30 extra minutes.

After 16 years, the Junior Scholarship Exam is finally returning. The short delay will help schools and students prepare better.
