The Rajshahi University (RU) Admission test 2026 will be conducted based on the short syllabus. The “C” Unit (Science) test will take place January 16, 2026.
The decision has been confirmed by several members of the university’s admission committee on Thursday (October 30). It is said that the RU Admission test for the 2025–26 academic session will follow the same short syllabus used in the HSC examinations.
Professor Dr. Abu Sadeque Md. Kamruzzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, stated, “The admission test for the 2025–26 academic year will be held based on the short syllabus that was followed in the HSC exams. This has been our regular practice every year.”
Earlier, the university’s Public Relations Office published a notice signed by its administrator, Professor Akhtar Hossain Majumder. According to the notice, the “C” Unit (Science) test will take place on January 16, followed by the “A” Unit (Humanities) on January 17, and the “B” Unit (Business Studies) on January 24, 2026.
RU Admission 2026: Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility criteria for different groups are as follows:
- Humanities & Business Studies: Minimum GPA 3.00 (including 4th subject) in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams, with a total GPA of 7.00.
- Science Group: Minimum GPA 3.50 in both exams and a total GPA of 8.00.
- Diploma-in-Engineering graduates: GPA will be calculated on a 5.00 scale.
- GCE (O-Level & A-Level) Students: Must pass at least 5 subjects in O-Level and 2 subjects in A-Level, achieving grade B in four subjects and grade C in the remaining three.
Candidates who are interested to participate the admission test in English version must select this option while submitting the final application form.
The test will be MCQ-based, carrying 100 marks in total. Each unit will have 80 questions, and 1 mark will be deducted for every 4 wrong answers. Candidates will need to get 40 Marks to pass the test.
